The Science of Water Resistance
When original protective coatings wear away, roof tiles become highly porous. They begin to absorb rainwater like a sponge. This retained moisture creates the perfect breeding ground for destructive organic growth.
During winter, the moisture trapped within porous tiles undergoes a freeze-thaw cycle. As water turns to ice, it expands, causing micro-cracks that eventually lead to tile spalling and severe structural damage.
Why Not Standard Roof Paint?
Standard paints sit on the surface and trap moisture inside the roof, causing timber rot. Renotec is 100% breathable. It penetrates the tile, chemically bonding to form a hydrophobic barrier while still allowing internal house vapor to escape.
